SESSION 1-“ STEPPING INTO Future WITH ROBOTICS” REPORT
DEPT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
DATE : 24/6/2018
VENUE: School Library
Over the next few decades, Robots the autonomous systems, will stretch our social fabric and professional environment. Robotic process automation and augmented tutoring are not so far in future. The “Stepping into future with Robots “is focused on how to program robots and computers that control manufacturing automation, with an emphasis on the team approach to problem solving in a work environment utilizing state of the art equipment like the Tetrix Robotic System, Scorbot ER-4 Manipulator, and peripherals that include conveyers, sliders, and turntables.
OBJECTIVES
Ø To enable the students to learn what robots can and can't do.
Ø With the knowledge about Robotics the students can meet the growing demand in the field of science, technology, engineering and Math’s
Ø In Robotics students familiarizes the use of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems to perform their tasks.
Ø They also learn the need for precise instructions.
Ø The students are able to design robotic systems.
Ø Students will demonstrate an understanding of how to program robots and computers that control manufacturing automation, with an emphasis on the team approach to problem solving in a work environment
Ø Learn some of the terms of current research topics in robotics and related fields
Ø Apply these terms to a given application and discuss their importance
Ø Analyze the relative importance of these coexistent aspects
Report:
Robotics means the intelligent combination of perception, cognition, and actuation. That is the essential nature of robotics. It is a bridge between the cyber and the physical worlds. This is a beginning course in robotics. The objective of this course is to introduce the student to basic programming as well as problem solving strategies. This course will involve students in the development, building and programming of a LEGO Mindstorm robot. Students will work hands-on in teams to design, build, program and document their progress.
